AUMC Kids' Stuff Consignment Sale

Consignor Agreement

Welcome!  We are delighted you have decided to consign with us.  We typically have 75 consignors at any given sale.  To ensure that each consignor understands how the Kids' Stuff Consignment Sale works and your responsibilities as a consignor we ask that you read all the information on this page and all the pages under the Consign tab in the column to the right.  Please pay particular attention to the Acceptable to Consign and Sales Tag Instructions.

Everyone who works to make the consignment sale a success each year is a volunteer.  No one is paid for their service.  Every volunteer and consignor must treat other volunteers and consignors with respect.  Any volunteer or consignor not doing so may be asked to leave the sale immediately and, if they are a consignor, their entire earnings forfeited.

By participating in the Sale, you confirm and agree to the following:

Commission: The Annandale United Methodist Church Weekday Preschool and Early Learning Program will keep 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% or 70% of your total sales tag receipts, based upon the number of participant volunteer hours. To view the commission chart, CLICK HERE.

Tagging and Merchandise Condition: It is the Consignor’s responsibility to tag and mark clearly each item with a Consignor number, size, and price, according to the guidelines explained on this website HERE
  • Items not properly tagged may not be sold or credited properly.
  • Sales tags without a consignor number will benefit the weekday children's programs.
  • Clothing must hang on an appropriate child-size hanger.  (For exceptions, please read the Sales Tag Instructions.)
  • Items appearing to be broken or otherwise not intact will not be allowed on the sales floor.
  • Clothing items which are found to be stained, ripped, or are otherwise damaged will be removed from the sales floor, unless the sales tag mentions the defect and the price reflects the condition of the garment.  However, all items are accepted for sale at the sole discretion of the Sales Manager and Co-Chairs.
  • Sales tags attached to items incorrectly will not be allowed on the sales floor.  A consignor may re-do the sales tag correctly, using their own supplies (tape, index cards, safety pins, and so on) away from the main area of the sales floor.  Volunteers working with the Consignor Check-In Team or the Merchandise Display Team will NOT be able to assist consignors under any circumstances.
  • If an item to be purchased does not have a sales tag, the Cashier Co-Managers will search the Lost Tag File and attempt to match a lost tag with the item.  If a matching tag is not found the Cashier Managers or the Sale Co-Chairs will price the item at a reasonable amount.  If the item is not purchased, they will create a new tag for the item.  A list of all items sold without tags will be emailed to all consignors after the Tag Counting Team completes it's work.
  • Items that do make it to the sales floor and have not been tagged correctly will benefit the AUMC weekday children's programs.
  • By signing this Agreement you attest that you have read, understand, and will abide by the Sales Tag Instructions provided.
Liability: Whereas volunteers with the Kids' Stuff Consignment Sale will try to assure that merchandise is not damaged during the set-up period and on sale day, individual volunteers, Annandale United Methodist Church, the Weekday Children's Programs, their agents or assigns assume no liability for Consignor’s items.  Each Consignor must collect unsold items between 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on the day of the Sale.  It is the responsibility of the Consignor to collect all of their unsold merchandise.  Items left behind or not collected as agreed will become the property of the Weekday Children's Programs for future resale or donation to local charity.  There are no exceptions to this rule or time period.
